2015 Cosmetic Dermatology Trends

According to American Society for Dermatological Surgery more than half of consumers are considering having cosmetic procedure done to improve their appearance in one way or another. Fifty-two percent of more than 8,300 respondents to the 2014 ASDS Consumer Survey on Cosmetic Dermatologic Procedures are considering non-invasive techniques to look better.

People are becoming more interested in the thought of cosmetic dermatological procedures, including more men looking to enhance their appearance. There are many contributing factors as to why consumers are turning to cosmetic treatments, such as:

1. Nonsurgical Cosmetic treatments

The use of minimally invasive (Botox, fillers, photo-rejuvenation) will continue to grow in popularity

2. Advanced Technology

Topically applied Botox will begin clinical trials in the U.S. in late 2015, early 2016. (The new needle-free gel formulation of botulinum toxin called RT001.)

3. Increased Men Consumers

More men are seeking cosmetic treatments to change their look for a number of reasons. (According to ASAPS, men had more than one million cosmetic procedures in 2013, 9 percent of the total.

4. Expanding Gap in Age Group

The age group of those seeking cosmetic procedures will continue to expand to both younger and more senior patients.
