Earlobe Repair

If you’ve noticed that your earlobes are beginning to sag, your piercings are stretched out, or lines and creases are starting to form, you may be a candidate for earlobe repair with dermal fillers. Wearing heavy earrings can also cause your earlobes to sag.

As we age, we tend to forget about other important areas like our ear lobes. Sagging earlobes and stretched out piercings can be improved with dermal filler injections. Drs. Dale Isaacson and Marilyn Berzin of DC Derm Docs can tailor an injectable treatment plan specifically to your needs to help firm up and reshape the ears.

Gravity, volume loss, and the weight of earrings can take a toll on our ears, causing the earlobes to sag and ear piercings to become large and stretched out. People who have stretched their earlobes and wanted them corrected or have an adverse reaction to ear piercing may also find themselves wanting to restore the natural appearance of their ears.

DC Derm Docs can help give you a youthful plumpness to your earlobes. Depending on the individual, we may choose to use one of the following fillers for earlobe rejuvenation:

Dermal filler is injected into the earlobe with a fine needle to add volume to the lobe, smooth out lines and creases, and minimize the appearance of large piercings. While the injections are generally pain-free, the doctor can apply a topical anesthetic to the lobe prior to injection to minimize discomfort. You may experience some redness, swelling, and/or bruising after injection, but this shouldn’t last more than a couple of days. *Individual results may vary.

Earlobe rejuvenation results can last up to one year or longer in some cases and earrings can be worn like normal after treatment. Dermal filler results last longer in the earlobes because there is no dynamic muscle movement like in the face. Once results do begin to diminish, the earlobe rejuvenation procedure can be performed again. *Individual results may vary.

Most patients only need one treatment session for earlobe rejuvenation; however, a second session may provide optimal results. The results are temporary, lasting from a year to 18 months, but the treatment can be repeated when signs return.*Individual results may vary. After the treatment, patients are able to wear earrings normally and the results of ear rejuvenation can last up to one year. When patients start to notice the results wearing off in their ears, they can come in for a subsequent filler treatment.

Many patients looking for complete rejuvenation have a combination of treatments performed together. For instance, you can have earlobe rejuvenation with dermal fillers at the same time as Botox to minimize your frown lines in one treatment session. Discuss your rejuvenation needs with us during your consultation so we can create a treatment plan just for you.
