The Oscar nominations are out and the nominees are scurrying around Hollywood searching for the perfect gown, tux and accessories.  You can be sure they’re all visiting their dermatologists so their skin will look its Oscar-best when the cameras roll on March 2nd.  It’s not easy to keep your skin glowing and dewy during the cold winter months, even for the most glamorous stars, but DC Derm Docs offer these tips to help you look as beautiful as Julia Roberts and Jennifer Lawrence on Oscar Night:

Drink a lot of water. Hydration is a critical ingredient for glowing skin. Keep a water bottle in your purse, your jacket pocket and in your car’s cup holder while you’re driving.  Drinking water instead of soft drinks, alcohol or coffee helps keep your skin hydrated.

Protect yourself from the sun. Always apply sunscreen when you go outside, no matter how low the temperature drops.  The sun’s rays can do damage even when the air is chilly.

Do Your Best to De-Stress.  Anxiety and stress can give you wrinkles.  Take time out of your day to relax, listen to music, strike a yoga pose or just enjoy the sunset.  It will do wonders for your health and your skin.

Take these tips to heart, and although you may not take home the coveted golden statue, you’ll certainly look like a movie star!
