As the old saying goes, first impressions are everything. Whether you’re at an interview or on a date, the first thing someone will notice about you is your eyes. Though eyes are the proverbial windows to the soul, they can also show signs of old age. Reclaim your youth with these six tips to achieve the radiant glow you had in your 20s.

  1. RETINOIDS

If you haven’t of retinoids you should probably start researching this multipurpose chemical compound today. Retinoids have been known to improve vision, immune function, treat skin cancer and even fight off signs of aging. The retinoids in many eye creams and treatments work by stimulating collagen growth and blood vessels ultimately fading age spots and giving a rosy appearance to skin.

2. ANTIOXIDANTS

Antioxidants found in many fruits like blueberries, strawberries and cranberries, are known to fight disease and reverse aging. Using skin creams and moisturizers infused with Vitamins C&E, green tea, and grape seed can provide protection against UV rays and other skin cell damages.

3. GREEN AND BLACK TEA BAGS

Green and Black Teas are not only good for dieting and weight loss, studies show that these teas can also be linked to anti-aging remedies. The caffeine in tea shrinks blood vessels around the eye and reduces puffiness. Start by brewing a green or black tea bag for three to five minutes. After boiling, place the tea bags on a plate or tray to cool for up to 30 minutes. Once the bags have cooled, lie down and apply them to your eyes.

4. NO MORE SALT!

Although we love adding flavor to our favorite dishes, enough is enough. Too much salt consumption can lead to weight gain and skin aging. Studies show that eating salty foods leads to water retention in the eyes, make them appear puffy.

5. GLYCERIN

This sugar alcohol compound, is often used as a cleanser, toner, acne treatment and a wrinkle-eraser. Products including glycerin can fill up the gaps caused by wrinkles and other lines around the face. For best results apply a mixture of an egg white, a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of glycerin to your face. Leave the mixture on for 20 minutes and rinse with warm water.

The color corrective properties in concealer can be helpful for masking age spots, wrinkles and dark marks on your face. Full of collagen and vitamins A&K, many concealers offer a quick fix for getting rid of wrinkles and reducing age spots around the eyes making you look and feel younger.
