Every bride dreams of a blemish-free wedding day and, while long term skincare is important, the night before is the most crucial for your skin.

Get glowing skin by following these five steps along with proper beauty sleep.

Step 1: Cleanse

While we always recommend washing your face, it is especially important the night before your wedding day. Removing dirt and oil from your skin will help ensure that you wake up blemish free. Not to mention that you will be creating the perfect canvas for applying makeup for your walk down the aisle.

Step 2: Tone

Using toner is a step that you should add to your daily regimen, not just the night before your wedding day. This extra step will remove dead skin cells and brighten your complexion. Inexpensive toners are easy to come by and using them will lead to almost immediate results.

Step 3: Exfoliate

Unlike toner, we would not recommend using an exfoliant every day. If you exfoliate regularly (on a weekly or biweekly basis) using a gentle exfoliant the night before your wedding day will help remove dead skin cells. Otherwise, don’t start using an exfoliant until you know how your skin will react.

Step 4: Hydrate

If you have a little extra time on your hands, applying a clarifying face mask will aid in soaking up the oil on your skin and a hydrating mask will add instant moisture. Choose one mask, depending on your skin type and, if the color is bold and bright, don’t forget to take a selfie!

Step 5: Protect

Your final skincare step of the night should be a light night cream. If it is too heavy it will make your skin greasy. The right cream should help you look fresh-faced on your big day, and create even toned skin over time.

Here at DC Derm Docs, we send well wishes to you and your loved one on your wedding day.
